When the spread of the novel coronavirus infection finally converges from around the end of 2022, generative AI has appeared from AI up until then due to ChatGPT, etc., and discussions on the relationship between AI and humans are bustling the economic forum.
There is no shortage of interest in what kind of changes will occur in social life as integration progresses using generative AI in human economic activity, but I will give that up to another opportunity.
Now, the flow of people and travelers has spread rapidly due to the end of COVID-19, but I saw a suspended article (end of May 2023) in the popular weekly magazine “Weekly Asahi.” With the spread of the internet, especially smartphones, newspapers and information magazines have been transferred to web versions, suspended, or abolished.
Incidentally, the Sankei Shimbun, Okinawa Times, Yamagata Shimbun, Mainichi Shimbun, etc. have been partially abolished in the evening newspapers, and the Joyo Shimbun and the Osaka Nichinichi Shimbun have been suspended, and 33 magazines such as Weekly Asahi, Go, The Television, Evening, Nippon Camera, Asahi Camera, Mrs., Seventeen, etc. have been suspended for 5 years (2018-) in information/weekly magazines.
One information magazine I'm very interested in is the quarterly magazine “Yokohama,” which focuses on the development and history of the Yokohama region. Unfortunately, it was suspended with the 2022 Spring issue No. 76.
The quarterly magazine “Yokohama” was first published by Yokohama City in 2003, and the Kanagawa Shimbun, which was entrusted with planning, editing, and production work by Yokohama City, has been publishing it for 19 years.
As a highlight, it was an information magazine covering everything from town planning to redevelopment and large-scale development, using many visual photographs and maps to get close up on people and things, using many visual photographs and maps. When promoting real estate appraisal business, the region to be evaluated is here the Yokohama region, but it can be said that it is a material that is thought to be “perfect” for regional analysis.
I was involved in the appraisal of the Yokohama area for about 5 years from around 1975, when “Blue Light Yokohama” by Ayumi Ishida was popular. It was a time when development was about to begin in the Yokohama downtown waterfront Minato Mirai district and the inland Kohoku New Town. There are regions (necessary) that remain the same as before, such as the Hikawa Maru of Yokohama Port, Port View Oka Park, and Sankeien, but it would not be an exaggeration to say that Yokohama is still a developing region, such as the redevelopment of the Minato Mirai district and the old city area. If you are interested, please read the quarterly magazine “Yokohama”, including back issues.
~ The city lights! Even now! It's beautiful, Yokohama! Blue light Yokohama
Note, although it is a bit feisty, we are expecting the quarterly magazine “Yokohama” to be re-published.
