We would like to express our deepest sympathies to everyone in the area affected by the Reiwa 6/1 earthquake. I sincerely pray for everyone's recovery and reconstruction as soon as possible.
Last year, 2023 (Reiwa 5) 9/1, is the 100th year since the Great Kanto Earthquake (1923 (Taisho 12) 9/1), and drills to strengthen disaster prevention capabilities were conducted nationwide. Also, 29 years ago, on January 17, the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake (which occurred on Heisei 7 (1995) 1/17) caused large-scale damage of 100,000 or more buildings and private houses where the first floor was crushed. Damage is concentrated on buildings and private houses built before 1981 (Showa 56), when seismic standards for buildings were strengthened. There was also the collapse of a concrete viaduct girder on the expressway.
Well, it's a private matter, but after my first visit to a local shrine on the 4th early in the new year, I fell on the street and was taken care of by an ambulance. I would like to borrow this magazine and express my deep gratitude to the young men and women (although they are strangers) who have contacted Caregiya 119. Also, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to everyone at the appraisal corporation A Square who accompanied me. Thanks to you, there are no fractures, and I am concentrating on treating wounds on my forehead, left cheek, and both legs and knees. Are loud relatives and friends encouraging you to think they are “exorcised”? They did it for me. More than 2 weeks have passed, and at last, I was able to create a word for this manuscript on my computer.
I fell or got injured on the road, but it is said that about 80,000 people a year die due to sudden cardiac arrest in Japan. There were approximately 129,000 cardiopulmonary arrest patients who were transported to ambulances during Reiwa 3, of which about 60% (82,000) were due to the heart. (Note: according to materials from the Japan AED Foundation) At such an emergency site, ① calling out to people around them ② confirming safety and calling out to people who have fallen ③ calling for support ④ calling 119 (emergency) ⑤ searching for an AED, etc. are carried out simultaneously. Next, you will wait for an ambulance to arrive while using a ⑥ cardiopulmonary resuscitation massage and AED. There are over 650,000 AEDs installed in the city, and anyone can search for it with the smartphone application “Life Saving Supporter TeamAsuka.” I have taken a regular lifesaving course and received a “lifesaving skill certificate” (2012) from the Tokyo Fire Department, but I'm worried about how useful it can be in the unlikely event of an emergency.
In response to the earthquake disaster, in domestic real estate appraisals, it seems that it will become even more important to examine the seismic performance level of the target building in which region (on the hazard map) the target site is located.
